- Devi’s story. From clutter
Devi felt slightly overwhelmed when she unexpectedly inherited a London flat that needed a lot of clearing. Provira’s caring, transparent approach gave her the confidence to persevere with seeking funds to support her renovation work. With the work now completed, she feels lighter, hopeful, and excited for the adventures the sale may open up in the years ahead.
When Devi inherited a flat from her friend it came as a total surprise. Their friendship had grown over a couple of decades through mutual contacts, a shared practice of Buddhism and supporting each other through tricky times. Nonetheless, Devi had never expected to be the sole beneficiary of her friend’s flat.
Overwhelmed by the clutter
One of the immediate issues Devi faced was the clutter in the flat. In recent years it hadn’t been cared for very much and had filled up with an array of belongings which felt like an overwhelming hurdle.
Because the flat was in a well-respected and desirable area of London, Devi knew she’d eventually be able to sell it fairly easily. However, to make it market ready, Devi had to spend a fair bit of time and money on it first.
Clearance costs, refurbishment costs and other estate expenses soon became a blocker. Devi quickly realised that she would need a little bit of financial support to make it all work while the money was still tied up in the flat – not a lot, but just enough to tide her over.
“It has not been without issues because it was cluttered, which was too much. That’s why I needed the inheritance money. It wasn’t a big loan, just enough to do to the final bits of the work there”
Searching for the right loan solution
Devi immediately began researching options for specialist financial help. After reading some excellent reviews of Provira, she felt reassured enough to get in touch.
Tracey and Debbie made her feel confident from the get go. There were no hidden costs, no surprises and a real highlight for Devi was how they assessed eligibility for the loan: by focusing on the value of the inherited property, rather than her personal income or credit history.
“They (Provira) were very caring and straightforward. There were no complications in dealing with them. So I felt that I could move forward. I was very happy to have chosen them.”
Very pleased with the outcome
A major positive for Devi was how uncomplicated the process was, especially compared to traditional banks. She found the whole process easy, straightforward and incredibly quick – she really appreciated that they didn’t waste her time.
Receiving the Inheritance Advance from Provira was an incredibly positive outcome for Devi. It’s been a really useful support to her at an otherwise expensive and busy time. With the new funds available, Devi was able to cover the costs of clearing the flat out properly and renovate parts of it to a better and more sellable standard.
Not only has that enabled her to focus on selling the flat with greater clarity, but she also described how the process of renovating has, in and of itself, been a really enjoyable experience.
Unsure exactly what the future holds, Devi is sure that the extra money from the flat will open up an adventure of sorts. She hopes the money will enable her to see the world and enjoy the remaining years of her life, just as her friend would have hoped.
“It will change my life a bit. I might be traveling a bit more, you know, enjoying the last few years of my life.”
